Location & surroundings

Amaronda Resort & Spa occupies the shoreline of Malaconda Bay on Evia, west of the coastal town of Eretria and southeast of Chalkida. The immediate setting is resort-based and coastal rather than urban, with beaches, landscaped grounds and hotel facilities forming the main surroundings. Eretria's archaeological museum, ancient theatre, harbour, shops and waterfront restaurants are approximately 3–4 kilometres away by road. Eretria Port provides the nearest significant passenger transport point. A car or taxi is useful for visiting the town and exploring wider Evia, while the resort also confirms airport and port transfer services and car and motorbike rental arrangements.

Nearby attractions
  • Archaeological Museum of Eretria – approximately 3.1 kilometres by road: The museum displays finds from ancient Eretria and provides useful context before exploring the surrounding archaeological remains.
  • Sfagiou Square – approximately 3.1 kilometres by road: The square lies within modern Eretria and provides a useful reference point for reaching the town's shops and local services.
  • Ancient Theatre of Eretria – approximately 3.4 kilometres by road: The surviving ancient theatre forms an important part of Eretria's archaeological landscape close to the museum.
  • Eretria Port – approximately 3.8 kilometres by road: The harbour is a focal point of the modern waterfront and an important passenger transport point for the town.
  • Eretria Beach – approximately 4.2 kilometres by road: This public town beach provides an alternative coastal setting to the resort's own guest beach.
Local travel tips
  • Use a taxi, rental vehicle or arranged hotel transfer for Eretria's archaeological sites and town centre, as these lie roughly 3–4 kilometres from the resort.
  • The resort confirms airport and port transfer services, which are useful for travellers arriving without their own vehicle; current charges should be checked before travel.
  • A rental car is useful for repeated excursions around Evia, while guests concentrating on the resort's beach, pools and sports facilities can manage without one.
  • Plan archaeological sightseeing for the cooler part of the day during midsummer, as exposed outdoor sites around Eretria can become hot in the afternoon.
  • Bicycle rental is available through the resort for local recreational rides, but longer island journeys are more practical by motor vehicle.
What to know before booking
  • The resort is outside central Eretria, so a taxi, car or arranged transfer is more practical than walking for regular trips into town.
  • The main outdoor swimming pool is seasonal, so travellers booking outside the warmer months should confirm its operating dates.
  • Free private parking is listed at the property, but guests requiring a guaranteed space or accessible bay should confirm availability before arrival.
  • The hotel's own accommodation pages mark selected bungalow categories as allowing pets subject to policy, while other current property listings differ; the rule for the chosen room should therefore be confirmed directly before booking.
Best time to visit

May, June, September and early October generally combine warm conditions suitable for the beach with less intense heat than peak midsummer. July and August are typically hotter and busier, particularly during Greek holiday periods. Spring and early autumn are also comfortable for exploring ancient Eretria. The main outdoor pool operates seasonally, so guests travelling outside summer should confirm pool availability and current beach-service arrangements before booking.
