April to June and September to October generally provide comfortable temperatures for walking around Sultanahmet. July and August are hotter and bring heavier crowds at the principal monuments. November to March is cooler, wetter and usually quieter, although snow is occasionally possible. Spring festivals, summer holidays and religious celebrations can increase visitor numbers or alter attraction opening arrangements, so advance planning is useful during these periods.
