Hotel description and useful information for travellers

Cleanliness

Multiple reviews note the hotel and rooms are clean and well maintained; one explicit comment: 'the hotel was clean. '

Service

Staff repeatedly described as very friendly, helpful and attentive (helped with luggage, assisted with a proposal set-up); only minor service gaps noted (pool bar service reported as nonexistent).

Location

Consistently praised for superb location and views, walking distance to town, surrounded by greenery and idyllic setting.

Room Quality

Rooms described as large, comfortable and clean with castle character; some issues noted such as a stiff mattress and at least one non-working mini-split AC in a room.

Amenities

Strong praise for the infinity and indoor pools, spa (saunas, hot tub, Turkish bath) and overall facilities; pool and spa standout features for many guests.

Value for Money

Generally positive overall experience but several remarks that cuisine/service in F&B areas and some services were not fully matching a top-tier 5-star expectation, lowering perceived value slightly.

Luxurious Accommodation in a Historic Setting

Nestled in the scenic countryside of Tuscany, Castello di Spaltenna Exclusive Resort & Spa, a former 10 th-century monastery, offers a unique blend of history and luxury. The spacious rooms boast traditional Tuscan décor and stunning views, providing a truly immersive experience.

Relaxation and Recreation

Guests can unwind in style with two swimming pools, including a heated option for year-round enjoyment. The outdoor pool features a charming waterfall and sun terrace, while the indoor pool offers a cozy retreat with countryside views. Additionally, the sauna, Turkish bath, and gym cater to wellness enthusiasts.
