Hotel description and useful information for travellers

Cleanliness

Generally reported as clean (many reviews mention 'clean' and 'chambres propres'), but some guests noted issues: a broken locker, a musty/closed-in smell in a room and signs of aging in parts of the property.

Service

Staff frequently described as friendly and helpful (luggage storage, kind staff), but there are notable negative incidents: a rude server during dinner and refusal to allow taking unfinished sake to the room.

Location

Repeatedly praised as excellent and extremely convenient — right next to Gora Station; many guests call the location perfect for exploring the area.

Room Quality

Rooms described as spacious and comfortable with good bedding and private onsen options, though some rooms feel a bit dated and at least one guest reported the room's private onsen appeared unused.

Amenities

Private onsens, public baths and free evening snacks/ramen are highlighted as strong points, but some facility deterioration was reported (broken locker, older facilities).

Value for Money

Mixed perceptions on value: several guests praised food and amenities, but at least one explicitly felt the price did not match satisfaction and some noted limited variety for longer stays.

Luxurious Hot Springs Experience

Setsugetsuka offers a unique hot spring experience with both public and private baths, drawing from 2 different natural springs. Guests can relax in the healing waters and unwind in the tranquil surroundings.

Diverse Dining Options

Indulge in exquisite dining at Restaurant Kacho with authentic Japanese kaiseki meals or savor sushi, tempura, and wagyu beef at Fugetsu. The culinary journey at Setsugetsuka is a treat for the senses.
